THE HISTORY OF WEATHEREND
In the early 1900s, Norwegian-born landscape architect Hans Heistad created outdoor furnishings to complement the rock-walled gardens at a Maine coast estate called Weatherend. Heistad's creations were distinguished by restraint and grace of style and are still in service at the estate almost 90 years later.
Today, Weatherend Estate Furniture offers a distinctive line of heirloom quality furnishings inspired by the private collection of the estate. By using a unique combination of yacht building skills and materials, Weatherend produces furniture of uncompromising beauty, strength and longevity to be enjoyed for generations. Weatherend Estate Furniture graces the landscapes of fine homes and public gardens as well as the interior and exterior spaces of resorts, corporate centers, offices, hospitals and museums.
